Let’s meet Carol & Martin

This UK duo have been the buzz of our rides over the last few years when they are in town.

Carol’s bubbly smile is always front and centre with Martin not far behind. It’s been a pleasure to have you guys on our rides and hope you have lots of memories to take back home when you leave us again in the coming weeks.

𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗲𝘁. Open Helmet, we know they are not as safe but we try and keep the 60s MOD era going, and drive accordingly, safe and slow.

𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼/𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 C’mon we are from the 60s, we are used to using 2 bean cans connected with a bit of washing line, or SHOUTING LOUD

𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗟
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺/𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲
We were both born in the 50’s and grew up in the 60’s to 70’s and are from an old Pottery manufacturing city Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire UK, we are the original teenage sweet hearts, known each other for 50 years, and married for 46 years.

As teenagers we grew up in the MOD, Rocker era, which we went with the MOD, from which we purchased our first scooter, a very unreliable Lambretta LI 150. Scooters in the UK have evolved musically from 60’s with the Who, Small Faces, then onto Tamla Motown and Northern Soul, then onto the MOD revival with the Jam and SKA.

We fitted nicely into the Soul era which we were blessed with the Torch nightclub in Stoke on Trent, and The Wigan Casino. From which we have started to pay homage by adding some old memorabilia to our Primavera.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 / 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
They are all brilliant, but we do favour any coastal run taking in your glorious coastline, not forgetting the meticulously planned lunch and sweet venues. Sorrento pizza @ Empire Bay stands out, the welcome we got last year from the owner was phenomenal.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴
The Scooter scene in Stoke on Trent in the late 60’s, 70’s was when you owned one it was part of your body and identity, and you wanted it to be individual so a lot named their scooter with a name on your side panels, ours was Soul Cloud. All your spare time was meeting up with like minded friends, and cleaning all that chrome.

𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 / 𝗩𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗮 𝘁𝗶𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱.
When parking use your centre stand, remember to wear suitable riding shoes, no crocs!!

We really appreciate being able to be included in this very special club, a massive thanks to Ryan and the team for planning these epic individual trips so we get the best and safest journey.

it really is a well organised slick unit, it’s like when Ryan drops off from the front there is always Tanya or some one to step up and take the lead. Thank you Peter and Bob who always keep us on track when we miss the traffic lights.

Also not to forget when they put their life on the line by stopping traffic on major roads so we can turn and access the road.

There’s just too many memorable moments to list, after all you have best Scooter club in the whole wide world.
