🇮🇹 All Italian – Solo lap of Lake Macquarie 🇮🇹
Saturday, 12th December 2020.

This ride will be an overnighter for those wishing to stay on Saturday 12th & return on Sunday 13th December.

The ride will have us staying off all major freeways using the coastal roads to Lake Macquarie with a top speed of no more than 90kph for those L & P Plate riders.

Heading north via Hornsby, Past Pie in the Sky along the Pacific hwy, Central Coast Hwy we will make a left hand turn onto Mann road/ Pacific Hwy and follow via Lisarow, Tuggerah, Wyong to the Big Prawn for our first photo stop of the ride.

Dinner on the Saturday night has been organsied with a few local riders for around 5.30pm

For those that wish to return with us on Sunday the 13th we will be leaving @ 12 midday. Meeting location will be announced on the VCL ride chat, please ensure to have notifications on.

Remember if you are feeling unwell or have symptoms please stay home and go get checked.

Note from the organisers of the Solo Lap around the lake #### There is no start time, start point, finish time or end destination. This day is purely creating a platform for participants to create their own day.
As a club or social group, you are able to arrange meet points, meet times and so on – but you will also need to responsibly manage group numbers to less than 30 people (when stopped) to comply with current C-19 restrictions.

Around Lake Macquarie, we’ve “suggested” some destinations, but the day is really what you want it to be. It’s been a crap year, and we all need to maybe treat ourselves and take some timeout to do something we collectively love – enjoy our Italian toys.

All owners have been contacted, and happy to participate, some are offering special deals. Chosen venues are intentionally varied and cater to different tastes & budgets, and unfortunately not all are Italian but each is superb to stop, relax, and create a memorable day.
Each has confirmed C-19 plan compliance. It’s recommended to book ahead for most restaurants (cafes not really unless I state otherwise) to help them manage their c-19 restrictions.

To Enter: Upload a photo of yourself enjoying the lake via Facebook or Instagram.

You must include the hashtag #lagodimacq #shannonsinsurance

Check your privacy settings and adjust for the day, photo’s must be available for us (and Shannons) to see – on either Facebook or Instagram.

Shannons will then pick a vehicle & motorcycle based on any publicly viewable photos found by searching #lagodimacq.
The winners will be contacted via their social media profile that evening (or next day), and prizes posted accordingly.

Check Point – Halton Park carpark, Eleebana
Halton Park will be the only designated checkpoint of the day – from 8.30am to mid-afternoon.
Shannons will be there, as well as an uber cool gelato kombi, and coffee van for those wanting a rest, and needing a caffeine hit!

Free stickers, badges and magnets will also be available for participants.

The event photographer has indicated he will be discretely taking action photos of everyone in the vicinity of this checkpoint. He will be there for a few hours only – from mid-morning until after lunch. His photos will be uploaded for free to the facebook page within 12-24hrs.

What if it rains? As this is not a mass gathering event, you are welcome to reschedule your ‘lap of the lake’ for the following day… as most of us will probably being doing as well.

In case you were wondering, this is a one-off event – there will be no next year. Because of the solo nature of this event, the solo format works because C-19 restrictions exist.
